Alexander Kyd is a Bulgarian-Russian guitarist and composer based in London. Western Plans, his debut album of original works for solo acoustic guitar, was recorded and released in Denmark in 2011.
A relentless street performer, Alexander recorded a live album at Forum Station, a popular underground station in Copenhagen. After living and travelling in China for two years, he moved to London and began recording original compositions with producer David Llewellyn.
Alexander Kyd's music usually combines elements of classical guitar music with digital effects-driven film music and alternative rock. His music has often been called "cinematic", "dreamy", and "soothing".
Among his influences, he lists composers Philip Glass and Michael Nyman, as well as guitarists Jonny Greenwood and Robin Guthrie.
